Options for fishing (Angeln), outdoor swimming pools (Bader), golf (Golfen), Nordic Walking, horse riding (Reiten), biking (Radeln), sailing (Segeln), tennis, walking (Wandern), and more. Have a look at the park Stadtpark whrere you can play minigolf and rent little boats.
  • Go hiking in the mountains. Check out the Great Arber mountain. It is about 1.5 hours from Neunburg by car.
  • Walk to the top of the hill (small mountain) Schwarzwihrberg to see the castle ruins of the Schwarzenburg. There is a short ridge you can walk along on your way called the ‘Steinerne Wand‘.  Here is a suggestion for a tour. This place is very close to Neunburg.
  • Relax around the lake Eixendorfer Stausee. Here is pdf with more details about the many activities you can do around the lake. And a map. The lake is close. You can even walk there from the house of Thomas’ parents. There is also a nice museum about crafts Handwerksmuseum.
  • For the ambitious hiker, Neunburg is part of the Goldsteig tour with hundreds of kilometers to walk.
  • Swimming and water sport. Neunburg has its own outdoor swimming pool. Check out the Bavarian caribbean at lake Murner See. Or have a look at lake Hammersee for swimming under trees and to cool down after a hot day.
  • Regensburg is great city to visit. It is more than 2000 years old and has plenty of things to offer. Browse though the UNESCO medival old town, try to find the gate Porta Praetoria of the Roman Castra Regina, visit the cathedral, have a bite in the sausage kitchen ‘Historische Wurstküche zu Regensburg‘ – probably the oldest restaurant in the world, walk over the 12th century stone bridge and have a beer in the Spitalgarten. Regensburg has three rivers, which are all great to explore by bike.
